GECOL TAMINA ENTRANCE ELECTRICAL TOWER CONSTRUCTION
As the electricity crisis continues in Libya, The Libya Electrical Company was under a lot of pressure to solve the issue . One of the solutions was to connect The Iron and Steel Electrical Power plant to the Tamina station in the east of Misurata. In order for them to do so it required the installation of six 220 KV electrical towers to connect between the two stations. However the task was not easy as these towers were to be installed in one of the most poor and aggressive ground conditions in Misurata .

The challenge was to construct 642 piles in a very short period of time and in very poor ground conditions. The solution was to use bentonite slurry as a support fluid to support the holes during the drilling process and monitor the bentonite with state of the art equipment .
